This week I visited a recently opened
second hand shop called Cream. It is located under the Western Railway Station
and deals in English clothes. What caught my attention was the shiny, colorful,
flashing billboard, which is quite conspicuous in the dark underpass. The good thing is that you can reach it
easily by underground and tram as well (and the railway station is also there,
if you are so determined that you would travel from the countryside).
The store itself is enormous. It contains
numerous lines of clothes, normal sizes, plus sizes and clothes for pregnant
women as well. To be honest, I didn’t
really recognize the brands of the clothes, but their material is quite good
and the prices are fascinating. When I entered the first thing I passed by was
the clothes hanger full of coats, which cost maximum 3500 HUF (16 USD). All the
clothes are cheap, 1000-2000 HUF (5-10 USD). There are also necklaces under
1000 HUF and hats with the same price. My favorite thing about the store is
that it really is a second hand shop with any kind of clothes for every age and
gender, so you have to hunt for the perfect pieces.
About the atmosphere: it was nice and
friendly despite its size. Catchy, groovy music spread over the place, the shop
assistants are friendly and the clothes are sorted by colors, sizes and types.
So I could find my favorite one easily:
Coverall, S size, 2100 HUF (11 USD)
All in all, I think it is great place if
you are looking for a real second hand shop, which can be found easily and
contains a large amount of clothes.
